wHAT WE DO
RIG is a Los Angeles-based creative resource — a rental inventory, an art department, and a fabrication practice operating as one. We exist to make ambitious creative work more possible and more sustainable, serving the designers, producers, photographers, filmmakers, event professionals, and studios who build things for a living.
Where most rental companies offer finished objects for predictable applications, RIG offers building blocks. Our inventory is drawn from productions by our founding team’s clients and projects, supplemented by set pieces rescued from LA film and event productions headed for landfill — renovated, returned to active use, and made available to rent. These are adaptable objects without prescribed uses. What you make with them is yours.
HOW WE WORK
RIG is built to be accessible. Some clients browse the inventory, know exactly what they need, and place an order. Others want to sit down, talk through a project, and figure out together what exists, what needs to be made, and how to stretch the budget furthest while keeping material in circulation. We're comfortable at either end and everywhere in between. The level of creative involvement we bring is determined entirely by what the project calls for.
SUSTainability as practice
RIG was built around a practical commitment to circular design and production. The creative and production industries generate significant material waste — RIG exists in part as a direct response to that. We don't make what can't be repurposed. We don't hold onto things that could be working in someone else's project. Rental pricing is kept intentionally accessible because the goal is circulation, not margin.
The practice of imagination plays a central role in how we work. Seeing what a material can become — rather than what it was — is what allows a set piece rescued from one production to become the foundation of something entirely new in the next. The versatility inherent in most of our inventory is not an accident. It's the point.
OM FAMILY
RIG was founded by the same team behind Organized Matter, Kept Workshop, and O.M. Studio. Each practice operates independently with its own clients, focus, and creative direction. We mention this not to blur those boundaries but because the depth of production experience behind RIG — and the material thinking that drives how the inventory is built and curated — comes directly from that shared foundation.
